RejuVeination offers Sclerotherapy treatments to patients interested in reducing and eliminating the appearance of superficial veins, like spider veins and relieving any symptoms associated with these abnormal veins. A common misconception relating to spider veins is that most people think this is just a cosmetic issue. Often times, spider veins are a sign of an underlying issue such as vein disease or Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI). The only way to determine if this underlying problem exists is by performing a diagnostic ultrasound. We can perform this test in our clinic in a very relaxing setting. After the diagnostic ultrasound test, the physician can discuss the results of the test the very same day. It is important for patients to understand that treating spider veins when there is an underlying issue present will often lead to the reappearance of spider veins. We care about you and your legs and want to make sure we provide you with results that last.

What is sclerotherapy?
Sclerotherapy is a medical procedure that can be used to improve the appearance of spider veins and other superficial veins. This vascular treatment reduces or eliminates the appearance of spider veins by injecting a medicated solution directly into the targeted veins, which causes the veins to swell and eventually collapse. The collapsed vein will gradually be reabsorbed by the body and fade from view.
How many treatment sessions will I need?
Most patients require a series of one to four treatment sessions in order to effectively reduce or eliminate the appearance of spider veins. The number of treatments can vary from patient to patient depending on the severity of the veins and desired results of treatment.
How long will the procedure take?
One sclerotherapy treatment session can be used to treat multiple spider veins. The length of the treatment session can vary from patient to patient depending on the number of veins being treated and the size of the area being treated. Treatment sessions typically last between 20 and 40 minutes.
What is the recovery period?
We may recommend you wear compression bandages or stockings for at least two weeks after a treatment session in order to encourage proper healing and reduce the risk of blood clots. Many patients are able to return to their normal routines immediately after a sclerotherapy procedure. In order to prevent the formation of blood clots, we recommend patients incorporate walking and regular movement into their daily routine soon after their sclerotherapy procedure. Strenuous activities, heavy lifting, and/or vigorous exercise are not recommended for at least two weeks after your treatment.
Are there any side effects?
Some patients may experience some temporary side effects, including bruising, stinging, swelling, or discomfort at the injection site immediately after a sclerotherapy treatment session. You may also experience some swelling in the feet or ankles after your sclerotherapy procedure. These side effects are mild and typically resolve within a few weeks of a treatment session.
